Maumelle Park

Maumelle Park is an Army Corps of Engineers campground located in Little Rock AR, on the Arkansas river just off of I-430. It has easy access to I-40 for those traveling across the country. All sites have 20/30/50 amp electric and water. There are multiple dump stations around the park.

This Army Corps campground is rated as one of the nicest in the system. It was very easy to get to and other then only having the worst site available when we booked it was a great park. Even when storms came through we felt safe at the park. Some of the sites have river views. And there are some medical sites only available to those getting treated at the U of Arkansas Medical school with full hookups.

One weird thing was we were given no paperwork on checkin and we had to check out upon leaving. This is a first for us camping.

For those staying in larger rigs I do not recommend site A-20 as it was tough to get into and we only had 1’ on each side of our wheels before a major drop off from the pavement.

Review

We used this campground as stop over on our way east so that we could work during the week. We stayed for 3 nights arriving on a Wednesday and leaving on a Saturday for Tennessee . We chose the campground for its price and also for it’s location.

We arrived around 4pm on Wednesday and checked in with the office before going to our site.

The park was quiet and calm which we appreciated. The sites are spacious and spread out so you are not on top of any neighbors. The park was fairly full for our entire stay.

There are multiple dump stations throughout the park including one on the way out.

If you are driving I40 across the country and want a good spot to stay off the beaten path for a few days to relax and recharge I would recommend this park.

Campground Information

The campground is split up into multiple loops. Each consisting of about 20-30 spots. Some with river views.

Each site has electricity offering 20/30/50 amp service and water. The campground offers both back in and pull through sites. A dump station is provided near the entrance to the campground.

There are public bathrooms spread throughout the campground each contains both a bathroom and multiple shower stalls. The bathroom closest to our site was clean when I checked it out.
