2020 Pandemic Trip Day 6, La Jolla and the coast

August, 14, 2020

Today Sue was also off so we headed up the coast to La Jolla. We drove up and parked near the cove and walked around the beach. We walked along the coast blvd and the cove from Jenner st to the Cave Shop, and watched the swimmers and sea lions.

For lunch we went to Hake at 124 Prospect st for some of the best Sushi and small plates we’ve had in a while. We then walked back along Coast Blvd and went down to the Cove swimming area for a bit before going down to boomer beach and watching the sea lions play in the ocean.

We then took a short break to rest in the Mesquite trees next to the La Jolla Bridge club. Finishing our time in La Jolla by walking back up to the car and getting a Gelato on the way out at Bobboi Natual Gelato. 8008 Girard Ave #150, La Jolla, CA 92037

We then rode up the Torey Pines Hwy past the Scripps Institute and into Carlsbad for Dinner. This took us along the route of the Bike the Coast bike race that I’ve entered in the past and runs along the ocean from Oceanside and through Carlsbad. We stopped at the Bluewater Grill (3179 Carlsbad Blvd, Carlsbad, CA 92008) in Carlsbad for Dinner and had some really good seafood.

We then returned to our AirBnb and got ready to head home.

Cheers,

The Bald Traveler….
